Estudios de reconocimiento molecular con moléculas biológicas be baja masa molar (alcaloides, antibióticos, etc.); desarrollo de “hidrolasas artificiales” (catalizadores de la ruptura de ésteres, fosfoésteres incluyendo ADN y ARN y péptidos en disolución acuosa); reconocimiento molecular de aniones y biomoleculas con receptores ácidos de Lewis.

- En 1989 obtuvo el título de Profesor por resolución del Comité Estatal de Educación Nacional de la URSS.
- En 1992 recibió “The Twentieth Century Award for Achievement” de Cambridge International Biographical Centre, UK.
